Hermanas Unidas (HaU) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1994 to serve Latina college students and alumni in their pursuit of career advancement. HaU was born with the idea that it would provide Latinas a place to find support and acceptance, through a mutual path of higher education, and build bonds that would surpass the years on campus. We currently provide resources, leadership opportunities, and a lifelong network to our 17 university chapters and their alumni.

HISTORY
In the fall of 1994, five young women: Zuleyka Heredia, Ricki Robles, Amelia Schustz, Erica Solorzano and Bernadette Vargas decided to establish a new support group for Latina students at UC Berkeley in an effort to provide a home away from home, while providing academic and community resources, as well as a family networking system through the basis of three pillars: academics, community service and collegiate networking.

Elizabeth is responsible for ensuring Hermanas Unidas achieves its mission by providing strategic direction to the board and setting the board meeting agendas.

Jioselin supports the current Chair in their responsibilities, preparing for the transition to lead the Board as the next Chair.
Laura Flores
Laura is an advisor to the Board, sharing her expertise as previous Board Chair.
Lilia Carmen
Lilia oversees the financial matters of an organization, managing budgets, financial reporting, and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
Tatiana Guardado
Tatiana is responsible for maintaining accurate records of board meetings, managing official correspondence, and facilitating communication among board members and stakeholders.
